Well looky what we have here... knee high sets starting to come in this morning here in Rincon. Looks like the trade winds are going to be working overtime after being held up by all the tropical action in the Atlantic. We might end up with onshore everywhere winds today. The surf is clean now though at the right spot. If you ever see yourself in the report, claim your pic(s)! Email: email@example.com Want to know the wave forecast for surfing Puerto Rico? Good news and bad news. The bad news first since it's not that bad - Hurricane Cristobal just couldn't get a NW fetch going and so we probably won't see much NW swell from him as a Tropical Cyclone. Now for the good news - The front that pulled him North setup a NE fetch when combined with the NE winds of the high pressure in the open Atlantic all week. This means some NNE windswell until something better comes along. There is plenty of North winds behind Cristobal that will give us waves for a few days straight as he moves North and goes extratropical. Don't expect epic swell, but we should at least have some consistent waist to chest high waves through the weekend and into next week. Cristobal is expected to be a powerful extratropical storm, so the possibility for some long period NE swell is possible for the end of next week. Best outlook we've had in a long time. Wax up your boards and get ready to surf. And please be kind to one another. We are all HUNGRY for waves and this swell is NOT going to be cranking. Only a couple of spots will be working and the waves will be a bit on the mushy side. Be patient and nice to eachother. That's the latest forecast for surfing Puerto Rico.
