NEW Shape from Zambrana – The RSR Special (WIP) https://rinconsurfreport.com/rincon-surf-blog/general/new-shape-from-zambrana-the-rsr-special/ Thu, 25 Sep 2014 19:27:02 +0000 http://rinconsurfreport.com/?p=536 The RSR Special – Currently in the shaping bay.

Zambrana has been working on a new shape that’s looking sick! I wanted to give everyone a sneak preview. The model is being called The RSR Special for now since a lot of my input went into this model. Since we only seem to get weak NE swell lately I was tired of all the boards I had that were made for primarily for bigger and steeper waves. I needed a board I could have fun on in the weaker swells that we get. Even the chest to head high days we had over the past couple of months have been super weak. I needed a board that worked differently. At the same time I didn’t want a board that would be useless in chest to head high conditions when a more powerful swell finally does come. The board should work good in waves waist high to about a foot overhead. In weak to steep conditions. It’s not a big wave board, it’s not meant to be.

The board is still being made. He’s still working on the rails and might pronounce the concave a little bit more, but currently it’s looking good. My version is 5’8″ 20 1/4″ at 2 3/4″ thick with single to double concave. Fin setup will be FCS 3-fin/thruster. I will probably put some k2.1’s in it.

I will take more pictures when he’s done and the shape will be added to his website.

I can’t wait to ride this thing!
