Rincon Surf Report – Saturday, Aug 22, 2020
Everyone in Rincon: "I thought we were having a Tropical Storm Today." Tropical Storm Laura: "Oh like you never showed up late for work." A pretty mellow day with waist high waves and light south winds right up to when the weather from Tropical Storm Laura finally showed up around 4pm. The power is now out for most of the nearby areas and we're seeing some of the wind and rain. The surprise south track of the storm was very unwelcome as this means little to no surf. The sideways south bump might be surfable early tomorrow morning at the most exposed breaks assuming we're still allowed to go outside tomorrow. Policy changes are being circled around like a bad game of Telephone and finding a reliable source on the actual Restrictions in Puerto Rico can be a challenge. Stay safe, have fun when you can, don't lose your mind. If you ever see yourself in the report, claim your pic(s)!
